Conquering Hollywood without boring Barack
MICHELLE OBAMA and hubby Barack Obama are leading increasingly separate lives as the former first lady concentrates on winning celebrity pals in her determined drive to be Hollywood’s queen bee wheeler-dealer, insiders say.
While Michelle, 58, spends much of her time in Tinseltown with her Higher Ground production company or gallivanting around the country like a single gal, Barack, 60, camps out in D.C. with political cronies and fatcats.
Sources squeal Michelle has totally seized the production company’s reins and has been schmoozing as many A-list pals as she can — rubbing shoulders with Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck, Taylor Swift, and Barbra Streisand and her husband, James Brolin.
“She’s accepting invites without Barack, hobnobbing with celebrities and hosting private luncheons and dinners in L.A.,” spills an insider.
As GLOBE has reported, sources say she and her hubby “are not getting along and haven’t been living like a couple.
“She prefers the California climate and has shoved Barack aside feeling he’s basically useless when it comes to her agenda.”
Michelle’s still furious Barack’s stayed back in Washington to hang with his political pals, and now she’s acting like she’s on her own and networking like crazy, sources say.
And when she’s not in Hollywood, Michelle’s acting like she’s single.
As GLOBE reported, she looked pretty cozy with Formula One driving superstar Lewis Hamilton, 37, at a recent Miami race weekend — with no Barack in sight.
“Lewis is two decades younger than her, but Michelle acts like she’s a schoolgirl with a crush around him,” tattles a source.
And on June 12, Michelle was spotted coming out of Manhattan’s regal Pierre hotel frolicking with a gaggle of galpals.
The source says Michelle “has always been a driving force behind Barack” and now feels she doesn’t need him to turn Higher Ground into a Hollywood powerhouse.
“With him out of the picture, she feels there’s nothing she can’t do!”
