PRINCE HARRY and his TV actress wife Meghan’s plan to spin their royal celebrity status into real-life gold seems to have hit a speed bump after they were outfoxed by the 96-year-old queen, who is nobody’s fool!
Her Majesty saw right through Harry and Meghan’s recent return to Britain. Officially, the couple swooped in from California to help Elizabeth celebrate her 70th year on the throne. But insiders say the royal renegades were really after intimate royal family video footage they could use to cement their $100 million Netflix deal and upcoming Kardashian-style reality series.
They ultimately left in a huff — and empty-handed, spies dish.
Meghan and Harry were sidelined for most of the official ceremonies marking the queen’s Platinum Jubilee. They were banned from joining the other royals on the palace balcony to view the Trooping of the Colors parade and were only allowed to attend a church service, where they were relegated to a back row.
Harry’s dad, Prince Charles, brother, William, and his wife, Kate, didn’t meet with him.
None of his close kin attended a birthday party for his year-old daughter, Lilibet, who was given the queen’s family nickname. While Elizabeth agreed to meet her namesake and the kid’s parents, she kept it brief — and in private behind closed doors — rejecting Meghan and Harry’s plan to photograph and videotape the encounter.
So Meghan and Harry — who reportedly were followed around by a camera crew — flopped at turning the royal family into their supporting cast.
This has to be a big blow to the couple’s standing in La La Land — since their royal connection is their only real claim to fame. Hollywood is hard on has-beens — and the pampered prince and his stuck-up wife are gonna learn that lesson sooner rather than later.
