CAMERON DIAZ’S DRUG MULE DAZE

Young actress played as patsy

CLUELESS Cameron Diaz claims she was conned into smuggling a drug-packed suitcase from Paris to Morocco in the ’90s — weeks before snagging her breakout role in The Mask!

The Charlie’s Angels beauty, 49, says devilish dope dealers took advantage of her when she was an aspiring model in the City of Light.

“I was there a full year and didn’t work one day. I couldn’t book a job to save my life. Then I got one job but, really, I think I was a mule carrying drugs to Morocco — I swear to God,” she confides.

“They gave me a locked suitcase that had my ‘costumes’ in it.” Cameron, who recently came out of retirement to appear in Back in Action with Jamie Foxx, insists she had no idea she could be carrying contraband — but grew suspicious about her sketchy luggage when she got to the border!

The airhead recalls handing over the bag to officials in Morocco and telling them, “I don’t know — it’s not mine. I’ve no idea whose it is!”

Her quick thinking kept her out of hot water in the northern African nation, where a drugtrafficking conviction could have landed her behind bars for at least ten years!

Cameron adds, “That was the only job I got in Paris.”

Shortly afterward, the leggy lovely headed back to L.A., where she was hired as the leading lady in 1994’s The Mask, opposite rubber-faced comic Jim Carrey — despite telling a casting agent, “I don’t act. That’s not what I do.”
