SLURRING NEWSGAL FOAMS AT MOUTH OVER SUSPENSION
TV news anchor Heather Kovar claims she was brutally overworked after she was suspended following an embarrassing on-air report where she looked a scruffy mess and slurred her words.
The CBS anchor for Albany, N.Y., got sidelined on July 10, a day after her shocking 6 p.m. performance where she got the weatherman’s name wrong and jumbled: “And so, moving on tonight, is we have to tell you also, you know, like other news that’s happening in the area.”
Show bigwigs soon cut off Kovar and she was suspended pending an internal investigation.
Heather later revealed she was
“sleep-deprived and exhausted” that day and had been forced to work double shifts since returning from family leave to care for her father, who passed away in May.
She says on that day, bosses had her work a 6 a.m. show, a 6 p.m. report and slated her again for the 11 p.m. spot.
