How mastermind Meghan yanks Harry’s strings
PRINCE HARRY’s brazen attack on America’s political system exposed how tightly his fame-obsessed wife, Meghan, controls his every word and move — like a puppet on a string, stunned Buckingham Palace sources tell GLOBE.
“Harry’s become nothing more than Meghan’s mouthpiece and puppet,” charges a high-level palace courtier. “He’s being destroyed in front of our eyes.
“Driven by her thirst for money and power, she clearly pulls his strings and calls the shots. We’re told it’s all part of her secret agenda to get herself elected to Washington — and even into the White House! There appears no end to her blind ambition!”
As GLOBE revealed last week, sources say Meghan is laying the groundwork for a political career by pushing henpecked Harry to become an American citizen and give up their royal titles since the U.S. Constitution bans anyone with a title of nobility from holding elected office.
But Harry triggered a royal uproar on both sides of the Atlantic when he launched into a politically charged speech at a small United Nations meeting celebrating Nelson Mandela Day on July 18.
After preaching to his New York audience about the COVID-19 pandemic, poverty and climate change, the prince slammed the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade abortion rights as a “global assault on democracy and freedom.”
His attack followed recent remarks by Meghan alongside feminist icon
Gloria Steinem urging men to be “more vocal” and show their anger over the rollback of abortion rights.
“Harry’s like a ventriloquist dummy spewing ‘woke’ talking points dictated by his wife,” says another palace source.
“The royals are horrified Harry involved himself in U.S. policy and court decisions. They really wish he’d just shut up! Harry’s attacking Supreme Court decisions could even jeopardize relations between the two countries!
“But he keeps thumbing his nose at his family’s rules — apparently at Meghan’s urging. The couple seems to have forgotten that without his royal connection they are nothing.
“Let’s face it, Meghan is royal only by marriage. The feeling in the palace is the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are living in their own fantasy
bubble — and we wish someone would pop it!”
But insiders insist Harry’s totally under the thumb of the former B-list actress who did a turn on TV’s legal drama Suits.
“There’s no questioning his love and unwavering support for Meghan,” notes the insider. “He made it clear to everyone before they married that ‘What Meghan wants, Meghan gets!’ And he’s making sure she’s happy.
“However, his increasing reliance on her has ruined his macho military image and turned him into a noodlespined laughingstock. She’s destroyed him.”
Harry lovingly called Meghan his “soul mate” during his UN speech, but after first meeting her, some of his oldest friends feared for his future with the ambitious social climber, who’s been accused of being snotty with aides.
At a 2016 shooting weekend at Sandringham Castle, Meghan acted “princessy” around Harry’s mates and slammed their irreverent banter and drinking, according to a new book, Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors.
“Nobody was exempt,” says author Tom Bower. “She reprimanded them about the slightest inappropriate nuance! Harry’s world would not be her world!”
The author writes guests exchanged texts blasting Meghan after the event, including, “‘OMG, what about HER? Harry must be f***ing nuts.’”
The sometimes goofy, party-loving prince has turned into a hapless hypocrite, blasts another source.
While lecturing the world on poverty, he and his family hole up in a $14 million Montecito mansion. Meghan flaunts expensive gems and designer duds — and they fly to star-studded outings aboard
fuel-guzzling private jets. “Harry should be happy but he seldom smiles anymore,” says the palace source.
“His wife is dressed to the nines and her mega-watt grin is turned on at all times — there’s not a camera she doesn’t like! Meanwhile, Harry looks dour and disheveled and constantly clutches Meghan’s hand for reassurance.
“The royals are worried about him. They see his house of cards crashing.
“He thought he was starting an exciting new fairy-tale life in Hollywood when he quit his royal duties, but the problem with fairy tales is they’re not real! The Sussexes have become a huge joke — except no one is laughing.”
