✚ A NEWLY developed brain scan detects Alzheimer’s disease with 98 percent accuracy — and delivers same-day results, experts say. Scientists at Imperial College London enhanced an existing computer algorithm used to find cancerous tumors in MRI images. They say the technology delivered near perfect diagnostic results for the memorystealing condition and was able to identify early or late state disease with a nearly 80 percent success rate. The team hopes the model will be widely available within a few years.
