FRANTIC FALLON’S RATINGS FALLOUT
Clueless & clobbered by Colbert & Gutfeld
FUNNYGUY Jimmy Fallon is facing a ratings crisis and is desperate to win back the Tonight Show audience he gained during the pandemic lockdown, spies snitch.
NBC’s 47-year-old late-night host is shockingly chasing FOX News’ Greg Gutfeld and CBS’ Stephen Colbert after blunders that left his audience confused, bored and unamused, sources dish.
“The problem is Jimmy wasn’t able to convert the love and attention poured on him during his homemade shows during the pandemic into a long-term ratings boost,” says the source.
“He’s back to chasing his main rival Stephen Colbert while also dealing with very popular new competition Gutfeld, which basically came out of nowhere and stole a ton of viewers.
“This is not where Jimmy wanted the Tonight franchise to be in 2022.”
But sources insist Fallon only has himself to blame because he’s been harping on boring topics like his business ventures into NFT, one-of-a-kind digital artwork that’s causing a financial furor.
Jimmy left his audience baffled trying to explain his $200,000 investment in a Bored Ape NFT as he chatted with guest Paris Hilton, who also owns NFT, sources say.
The tipster says “when Fallon hyped his Bored Ape NFT on the show, it didn’t earn him any love from the viewing population, who don’t have the means to buy this junk.”
Critics claim the audience just gaped and someone had to switch on the “Applause” sign to get the crowd to react.
In March, Tonight bosses brought in new executive producer Chris Miller “to make the show slicker and cover for Jimmy’s sloppiness,” tattles the insider, who fears the show is on the brink.
