FAWNING Julia Roberts is gushing over good buddy George Clooney for “saving” her from “complete loneliness and despair” during the pandemic!
But the Tinkerbell star’s confession comes months after sources told GLOBE the screen beauty’s increasingly cozy friendship with the silver fox has left both of their spouses seething with jealousy!
As COVID-19 put much of the world in lockdown, Pretty Woman Julia, 54, shot the upcoming rom-com Ticket to Paradise with dapper George, 61, in Australia — putting thousands of miles between her and hubby Danny Moder and their children, 17-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus and Henry, 15.
“We were in a bubble, and it’s the longest I’ve ever been away from my family. I don’t think I’ve spent that much time by myself since I was 25,” reveals Julia.
Even when her cameraman hubby came for a visit with their children in tow, they were legally forced to quarantine for two weeks before the family could reunite!
Meanwhile, George dishes Julia’s Down Under digs were so close to the rental he shared with wife Amal and their five-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander, he’d deliver her morning coffee!
“We started in Hamilton Island, with all these wild birds,” he explains. “I would come out in the early mornings and be like, ‘Caa-caa,’ and Julia would come out and be like, ‘Caa-caa.’”
As GLOBE reported in July, tipsters tattle Julia and George’s flirty behavior caused Danny and lawyer Amal to insist the pair’s sixth movie together will be their last — or else!
“Every time they’re near one another, for a film or social occasion, they hang on each other’s words, laugh and joke to the point where it’s a little obnoxious,” spills an insider.
Sources dish Julia and George remain devoted to their families — but say the superstar duo is now closer than ever!
