Multivitamins shield the brain
✚ TAKING a daily multivitamin may protect the brains of older adults — and help ward off Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, research suggests. Wake Forest University’s Dr. Laura D. Baker says her team’s study of 2,200 individuals over three years linked vitamin consumption to improved memory and a roughly 60 percent slowing of cognitive decline! The scientists found the benefits appeared most pronounced among folks with significant cardiovascular disease. While Baker calls the results “promising,” she cautions additional research is needed.
