SLIMLINE GARTH’S IN BIG TROUBLE!

Worried doc warns 50 lb. weight loss is danger sign, not a health triumph

-

COUNTRY music king Garth Brooks is crowing about shedding a staggering 50 pounds — but an explosive doctor’s opinion concludes the 60-year-old may sadly be heading for the last roundup!

While the 6-foot-1 cowboy, who previously crushed the scales at around 300 pounds, is publicly bragging he’s in great shape, a top doctor is convinced the singer’s dramatic weight loss is a dangerous red flag his heart, liver and prostate have been ravaged by decades of yo-yo dieting!

“Yo-yo dieting steers people into the depths of inflammation, pain and life-threatening chronic illnesses,” says Dr. Stuart Fischer, who hasn’t treated Garth. “He’s steered himself into a health crisis.”

The Friends in Low Places superstar began dropping pounds after turning 60 in February, and brags that when he performed a fivenight stand in Dublin, Ireland, in September, he weighed the same as when he first played there 25 years ago!

But a friend says Garth’s latest weight dump marked the FIFTH time he’s lost at least 40 pounds during his storied country music career, raising concerns about the damages so much yo-yo dieting can cause.

Just three years ago, the Ain’t Goin’ Down crooner weighed nearly 300 pounds before dropping 60 pounds — which he promptly put right back on during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Garth has had this gain a ton, drop a ton, yo-yo diet weight thing going on most of his adult life,” the friend says.

“He hates to exercise, and his two favorite restaurants are McDonald’s and Taco Bell. When he puts his mind to it, he will eat right and use the exercise equipment in his home.

“But then he goes back to his old bad habits. His own doctors tell him he’s putting his body through hell.”

Park Avenue Diet author Fischer warns “Garth may think he’s healthy once again after losing all this weight, but in many ways, the damage is already done.”

He’s at risk for high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, prostate cancer and colon cancer, notes the doc, adding: “He didn’t erase his risk by losing weight — once you’ve done something negative to your health, it’s very difficult to erase the damage.”

And with his past history, “he’s also likely to put the weight back on!” Fischer ominously warns.

“The body’s fat cells have a memory, and when they get depleted, they somehow commandeer 10 percent of whatever you eat and store it as fat — making it even more difficult to lose weight again!”

“As usual, there is a great woman behind every idiot.” — John Lennon
