OILY Saudi Arabian fat cats are trying to buy pro golf and, incredibly, some of the biggest names in the game have fallen into their sand trap!
While officially fronted by Australia’s Great White Shark Greg Norman, the new LIV tour is financed by savage Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who has been publicly accused of masterminding the gruesome murder of Washington Post reporter Jamal Khashoggi after he dared to criticize the cruel kingdom.
Critics charge LIV is a desperate attempt by the prince to put a civilized face on his ruthless regime — which regularly beheads opponents — and wash Khashoggi’s blood off his hands.
But LIV’s frontmen and the royal puppeteer pulling their strings insist the new tour is all about fairness and is designed to break an evil golf monopoly run by the worldwide PGA
Tour. Prince Mohammed, who denies any involvement in the brutal 2018 assassination, and his cronies have hauled the
PGA into court to break their stranglehold on the game.
Meanwhile, the smarmy Saudi gang is also throwing millions at top players to draw big names away from its 93-year-old rival. American golf icon Phil Mickelson took the bait with a guaranteed $200 million payoff on top of any LIV tournament prizes he wins. Dustin Johnson, the PGA’s 2020 Masters tournament winner, reportedly bagged $150 million and 2020 U.S. Open champ Bryson DeChambeau got more than $100 million. But Tiger Woods flat-out rejected a guaranteed $800 million payday.
Now more Americans are getting hip to LIV CEO Norman and his Saudi bogeymen.
Furious Rep. Chip Roy from Texas likens the moneyspewing LIV business to prostitution and brands Norman as the organization’s “pimp.”
“Don’t come in here and act like you’re doing some great thing while you’re pimping a billion dollars of Saudi Arabian money and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the United States,” fumes Roy.
Only time will tell if the $620 BILLION LIV war chest can buy golf — or the honor of its greatest players. But Tiger deserves applause for saying no and proving dirty lucre can’t buy a legend!
