OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN in the 1978 big-screen musical. But flabbergasted Paramount bigwigs gagged at the thought of an adult film actor playing Rydell High’s beloved athletics teacher, Coach Calhoun! According to the flick’s gabby director, RANDAL KLEISER, the studio scoffed, “‘No no no. You can’t do that.’ So they had to fire him.” TV comedy pioneer SID CAESAR was then cast as a replacement. “Allan felt so bad that he gave Harry $5,000 out of his own pocket, but the poor guy was very devastated. Because it was his moment to move from porn to the real upscale world,” spills the filmmaker. The life-changing decision was indeed a bitter pill for Harry to swallow. “Acting was my true love, and I buried that possibility by going into adult films,” Reems, who died in 2013, said in 2005. “The writing was on the wall.
