BRUTAL boxer Mike Tyson quickly mowed down sparring partners in the ring — so he could hightail it home in time to watch his favorite TV cartoons, dishes a onetime confidant.
Rudy Gonzalez, who was a bodyguard and chauffeur for the former heavyweight champ, recalls Iron Mike would be scheduled for five-hour training sessions at a Las Vegas gym during his heyday — but he’d regularly “KO five guys” in under 60 minutes!
“One day I asked: ‘Boss, I am confused, isn’t this about working on techniques?’” says Gonzalez. “He replied: ‘If I keep it going, we will miss Tom & Jerry cartoons.’”
Decades later, the retired bruiser, 56, had his own Scooby-Doo–like animated series, Mike Tyson Mysteries, which ran on Adult Swim from 2014 to 2020.
