Relapse firestorm over her bizarre ad
ONETIME blond bombshell Jessica Simpson sounds downright shellshocked in a new ad, say concerned fans.
The reality star turned singer and fashion mogul seems to struggle to enunciate her words while pitching the Pottery Barn Kids décor she used for the room of her three-year-old daughter, Birdie.
“I was really drawn to the geometric prints and the color scheme,” says Jessica, sounding like she’s speaking with a mouthful of marbles. “This really, to me, is Birdie’s personality.”
On the Instagram page where she posted the ad, one worried admirer says: “Why does she talk like that now. It’s just strange, it’s in every video of her talking. Like she is trying really hard to get the words right.”
Another adds: “Please tell me I’m not the only one that hears her voice being totally slow. Is she ok?!?!” As GLOBE readers know, Jessica, 42, suffered from addictions to booze and drugs and sparked fears for her health with a dramatic weight loss that saw her drop from a high of 240 pounds to an estimated 90!
But after the firestorm over the advertisement, Jessica snapped at the “opinionated hate” and insisted she was five years sober!
“As much as I have learned to block out destructive noise, peoples’ comments and judgements can still
hurt deeply with their incessant nagging ‘you will never be good enough,’ ” she wrote on the internet. “The most important thing I have learned through the last five years without alcohol being a guard for escapism, is that I CAN and ALWAYS WILL get through it.”
But not everyone was convinced.
Sniped one fan, “This just didn’t seem like the normal her we’ve seen before. Hopefully she was just having a bad day.”
