OLIVIA’S LOST LOVE PLANNED TO DISAPPEAR!

Private eye’s explosive discovery finally solves 17-year-old mystery

THE late songbird Olivia Newton-John was devastated when her lover Patrick McDermott mysteriously vanished in 2005, but a shocking new probe suggests he faked his death to escape his debts.

The 48-year-old movie cameraman romanced the Grease beauty for nine years before he disappeared during an overnight fishing trip with 22 others off L.A.’s coast on June 30, 2005.

Now, in a bombshell revelation, private eye Philip Klein says McDermott left the You’re the One That I Want singer, who died at 73 from cancer Aug. 8, a “heartfelt note” and roses before vanishing!

Klein notes McDermott “hated the Hollywood lifestyle,” the glitzy phoniness and wasn’t able to cut it financially.

At the time, the Koreanborn lensman was bankrupt with $30,000 in debts and owed $8,000 in child support.

“Hollywood’s a place of

money, but it’s also a place of very poor people who are trying to make it,” says Klein. “And he just never could make it.”

Meanwhile, he was desperate because his British-Australian galpal was one of the most successful and wealthy stars in Tinseltown.

“They’d been having a lot of problems,” Klein says. “Patrick was backing out of the relationship because he didn’t like Hollywood. He didn’t like what he was doing.”

In his “final farewell” note to the Xanadu beauty, McDermott wrote “he’d always loved her, always will love her,” says the sleuth.

The message seemed a forewarning that something terrible was coming.

Shortly after, McDermott vanished from the fishing boat Freedom.

Apparently, no one realized he was missing until six days later.

His car keys, wallet and passport were on the boat and his car was at the San Pedro Marina.

The Coast Guard concluded he was lost at sea.

Over the years, people claim to have seen him in Mexico and suspect he was working on yachts to support himself. Others speculate he vanished to escape debts.

Before her death Olivia admitted: “I think there will always be a question mark.”
