Sajak sells out pal so daughter can snag gig on Wheel of Fortune
FURIOUS Vanna White has been stabbed in the back by her bestie Pat Sajak, who’s scheming to cut the Wheel of Fortune letter-turner out of the running to be the game show’s next host — so his daughter can inherit the job, stunned sources say.
Although insiders tell GLOBE Vanna’s been assured by show bigwigs she’ll get the host gig after controversial Pat is put out to pasture in 2024, he’s slyly brought his kid, 28-year-old Maggie Sajak, in for “extended fill-ins” and “to show her off” as he pushes for her to become his replacement, sources snitch.
“Vanna’s tolerated this situation for as long as she could, but after Pat’s blatant disregard for her seniority she’s beyond livid,” spills an insider.
Maggie joined the show in 2021 as a “social correspondent,” which sources tattle is nothing more than a glorified title to do basically nothing but show up and look pretty!
At the end of a Dec. 27 segment Pat invited his daughter to join him and Vanna for the parting message.
When Maggie mentioned she’d hosted Christmas Trivia with Pat and Vanna, her dad praised her by saying, “You were actually a good host!”
Sources claim the remark was a nasty shot at Vanna, who Pat believes should have been more supportive when he was getting hit with criticism for his nasty onair behavior.
As GLOBE has reported, Sajak’s recently put his foot in his mouth countless times on the show, including ridiculing a contestant’s lisp, snapping at a player for being “ungrateful” and making a sexually suggestive comment to Vanna!
He’s also peppered his Twitter feed with his tasteless jokes and barbs aimed at viewers.
“Pat’s hinted he may retire when his contract expires in 2024 and clearly, he wants Maggie to carry on,” dishes the insider.
“It’s taking a lot of willpower for Vanna to keep smiling on camera, but behind the scenes it’s turned into an allout war. Vanna’s complaining to bosses that Pat’s trying to elbow her aside to make room for Maggie and that she won’t stand for it.
“Everyone’s bracing themselves for battle because it’s going to get worse before it gets better.”
