SOAP QUEEN GENIE IS A ROYAL PAIN!
She’s the star everyone loves to hate
SOAP OPERA sensation Genie Francis is General Hospital’s crown jewel — and that’s making some of her co-stars rise up in jealousy, because they believe she has their bosses wrapped around her little finger, insiders tattle.
The actress, 60, has played the character Laura Spencer on and off since 1977, and sources snitch that makes her feel entitled to special perks — like taking summers off so she can spend time with her hubby, Star Trek: The Next Generation star Jonathan Frakes, and their kids, Jameson, 28, and Elizabeth, 25.
“Genie’s probably the most popular star the soap has ever had, and it doesn’t please her co-stars any,” gripes an insider. “They’ve seen how she’s come and gone from General Hospital at leisure over the years and came back recently to take the soap world by storm again.
“She takes nice, long vacations with her family and it leaves viewers begging for more of Laura. Her co-workers think it’s pretty big-headed of Genie to swan around the set

Genie’s 1980s series Bare Essence flopped after only one season.
And although the Queen Bee of daytime has also appeared on Days of Our Lives and All My Children, she has flubbed
great opportunities to branch out — including turning down the mermaid role in Splash that helped Daryl Hannah ride a wave to stardom!
“But Genie wouldn’t trade her perfect life for anything,” snitches a source. “Jonathan and her family come first and always will!”
