Former matinee idol gains 30 lbs. & loses looks as he faces hot seat for killing camera gal
WITH a possible stretch in a New Mexico clink looming over his head, accused shooter Alec Baldwin has turned to food for comfort and is piling on pounds with shocking pig-outs, insiders say.
The 64-year-old former matinee idol has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42, who died when a revolver Baldwin was holding for a scene in his Western flick Rust went off.
Now insiders squeal the 6-foot father of eight has packed on 30 pounds and is crunching the scales at 275 while making no effort to control his gobbling as his legal problems mount.
In addition to criminal charges, Baldwin is being sued by Halyna’s mom, Olga Solovey, and sister Svetlana
Zemko even though he settled with her widower, Matthew.
“Alec has every reason to be stressed, but he’s clearly handling it the wrong way,” spills an insider.
“He’s a guy who can pile on the pounds very quickly when he’s not taking good care of himself. Right now he’s so busy with legal meetings and the kids that he’s barely got time to breathe let alone hit the treadmill. His main comfort is his food.
“With his wife, Hilaria, busy with the little ones, it’s far easier to step outside their Manhattan apartment to a Mexican food cart or hot dog stand.”
The insider dishes Baldwin’s gobbling “gets worse late at night when he can’t sleep. He’s gorging on junk like ice cream and washing it down with sugary sodas.
“He must have packed on 30 pounds so far, at least” and looks like hell with massive bags under his puffy eyes.
A few years ago, Alec was doing yoga every day with his wife, watching his portions, and trimmed to 176 pounds, say sources, noting, “Then that horrible shooting happened, and he’s been pigging out since.”
