Hires dead rival’s designer To craft coronation gown
IN A low-handed bid to outshine her former love rival, conniving Queen Camilla has chosen the designer who made the late Princess Diana a fashion icon to create her coronation gown!
And that’s sparked a furious backlash from the princess’ sons, William and Harry, who are outraged their evil stepmother is defiling Diana’s memory, say palace sources.
“This is Camilla’s ultimate diss at Diana,” fumes a high-level royal courtier. “You’d think she’d be satisfied by stealing
Charles and robbing Diana of the throne, but Camilla is driven by her jealous desire to outdo the tragic princess.”
Charles’ 75-year-old wife has long been cozying up to British fashion mogul Bruce Oldfield, who once boasted: “I gave Diana her glamour and Camilla her confidence.”
And palace sources say crusty Camilla will need all the help she can get when Charles is officially crowned on May 6. “Camilla obviously doesn’t have Diana’s good looks or charisma, but Bruce is a genius with secret corsets that can boost her figure and he’ll create a stunning outfit befitting a queen,” snarks the courtier.
Oldfield, 72, has also appeared to harbor resentment toward Diana because she dropped him as her designer following her split from Charles, tattletales titter.
Adding insult to injury, Diana also ended her role as president of Barnardo’s, a charity supporting vulnerable children and a cause close to Oldfield’s heart since he was given up for adoption as an infant.
“We were shunned,” he once complained about the loss of Diana’s patronage. “We were pissed off.”
Bruce’s membership on Team Camilla has struck a raw nerve with William, 40, as sources say he’s taken it as another horrific slight to his dead mother as his father’s longtime mistress and now second wife continues a relentless quest to grind Diana’s memory into dust!
“William has long resented Camilla for wrecking his family,” spills another insider. “He still sees her as the woman who pushed his mother out the door, and there’s little doubt in his mind Diana would be alive today if it hadn’t been for Camilla’s meddling.
“Now he’s going to be forced to watch his stepmother take center stage at the most important event in history for the royal family since Queen Elizabeth’s coronation 70 years ago, and in a gown that would have likely been worn by Diana, had her place not been stolen from her.”
Worked-up William has even reached out to his estranged kid brother over the slap at their mother — and royal sources say the brothers are united in their outrage, though they haven’t reached a full peace accord.
Adds the courtier, “William is now threatening to boycott the coronation. He’s demanding that Camilla find someone else to help her dress for royal success — or there will be an empty chair at the event!”
