KING CHARLES HAS CANCER!

Reluctant William to fill father’s shoes as dying monarch prepares abdication

-

DOCTORS have diagnosed King Charles with a fatal cancer and the bombshell revelation explains his sudden decision to abdicate the throne and turn the monarchy over to his 41-year-old son, Prince William, say insiders.

As GLOBE revealed last issue, the dying 75-year-old royal threw William into a tizzy with his sudden decision to quit, initially saying merely that he wanted to enjoy his remaining years at ease with Queen Camilla, who sources say is battling breast cancer. But now comes the explosive truth behind his decision: Charles has as a highly aggressive form of the deadly disease and MUST retire as chemotherapy and other treatments take a toll on his mind, body and spirit!

“With the way cancer spreads and savages the body, His Majesty knows he won’t have the strength to continue with the exhausting public schedule expected of a monarch,” says a palace courtier.

“As king, he must attend charity and benefit events, meet and greet leaders from around the world and deal with political decisions by the prime minister and Parliament.

“That’s a grueling pace and now with the deadly diagnosis he’ll be needing to spend all his energy and time fighting for his life. So he’s canceled all public engagements for the foreseeable future. His heir, Prince William, will reluctantly assume his duties.”

Charles’ fatal condition was detected when he underwent surgery for an enlarged prostate — but the palace insists the cancer is not related to his reproductive organs.

“During the king’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlarge- ment, a separate ate issue of concern oncern was noted,” the palace said in an official announcement. “Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.” But the palace kept mum about the specific type of tumors ravaging the monarch, who is also said to be suffering from congestive heart failure.

In what’s seen as a forerunner to an official announcement of abdication, the spokesman noted, “His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.”

Meanwhile, as William is forced into filling his father’s shoes, he’ll have to do it alone since his wife, Kate, was released from the hospital the same time as Charles

and reportedly dl won’t ’ return to her work schedule until after March 31.

As GLOBE reported, the palace officially claims Kate was hospitalized for abdominal surgery, not cancer, but insiders say surgeons for the 42-year-old mom of three removed ovarian tumors.

The sudden series of health

crises i h has thrown h the h royal l family for a loop — providing an opening for the king’s runaway son, Prince Harry, 39, and his American-born B-actress wife, Meghan, 42, to mend their royal fences.

Harry returned to Britain to see his father after Charles phoned h d to reveal his deadly diagnosis — and word is peace talks are afoot.

“The royal family is in turmoil,” says the courtier. “The only top members not in disgrace are facing serious health challenges. That leaves poor William trying to keep the monarchy afloat single-handedly. It’s a huge task, but the family is confident he’s up to the job. Besides, he has no choice!”
