KRISTOFFERSON CHANGES TUNE!
87-year-old coming out of retirement
COUNTRY legend Kris Kristofferson went into retirement after his final full concert in January 2020 — but friends say the 87-year-old music man is feeling so hearty he wants to shake off his retirement and give his fans a comeback they’ll never forget!
Kristofferson brought the house down while singing a duet of his classic hit Lovin’ Her Was Easier with Rosanne Cash at his pal Willie Nelson’s 90th birthday concert last year — and it made him realize just how much he misses the applause.
“Kris retired just as the COVID-19 pandemic hit and he figured that was as good a time to get out as any, since the whole world was shutting down,” twangs a pal.
“But he has never quit writing songs, and he feels he should do a few more concerts and let people hear them. Even though it’s been four years since he played a solo concert, he’s feeling better than ever!”
The musician and A Star Is Born actor fell into the grips of a long-running medical saga in 2009, when doctors blamed his mounting memory slips on Alzheimer’s disease.
But tests in 2016 showed the Why Me singer actually had contracted Lyme disease — which had contributed to his brain fog — and he was successfully treated.
But even in retirement, Kris, who battled vampires in the Blade trilogy, has continued to make public appearances, which a friend says may well lead to something bigger!
“Willie marching on with his career really gives Kris encouragement and he feels he may have pulled the plug on his music career too soon,” blabs a buddy.
“After dealing with such grave medical issues and coming out the other side whole, Kris says he feels there must be a bigger plan for him and that he closed up shop on his career before its time.
“Now it looks like he’s ready to make a comeback for the ages!”
