JUSTICE AT LAST!

Gets $14M after serving 37 years for brutal murder he didn’t commit

-

RAILROADED Robert DuBoise spent 37 years in a cage for a 1983 rape and murder he didn’t commit — and won a $14 million settlement from the city of Tampa after claiming he was framed by cops!

“Money, houses, cars — none of that stuff can ever restore what I lost,” says DuBoise, who was sprung from the slammer in 2020. But the exonerated man insists, “I don’t want to waste my time with bitterness and pity parties.”

DuBoise was just 18 when he was shipped to death row after a wrongful conviction for sexually assaulting and fatally beating 19-yearold Barbara Grams. His sentence was later reduced to life in prison. But The Innocence Project — a criminal justice reform group — helped convince prosecutors to take another look at his case!

Lawmen say DNA testing, which was not available at the time of his conviction, pointed to Abron Scott,

58, and Amos Earl Robinson, 60 — convicted killers who’ve since been indicted for first-degree murder in Grams’ death.

DuBoise was cuffed by cops shortly after the discovery of Barbara’s bludgeoned body — even though he’d never met the victim!

Following his release, the ex-con sued Tampa, the investigating officers — and the forensic dentist who testified a bite mark on the gal’s cheek matched up to DuBoise’s teeth, which wasn’t true.

A prison snitch’s testimony claiming DuBoise confessed to the crime was also later discredited.

The city denies investigators deliberately framed DuBoise, but coughed up the cash. However, council member Luis Viera admits, “This was a big wrong.”
