TACKY TRUMP: DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO!

Wife’s family used immigration policy Donald tears apart

-

DONALD TRUMP saying one thing while doing another? Say it ain’t so! But newly revealed immigration documents say Trump’s mother-in-law Amalija Knavs immigrated to the U.S. from her native Slovenia in 2009, using the same law Donald tried to kill during his presidency and has repeatedly trashed since then.

Called the “chain migration law,” the rule allows a U.S. citizen to bring over a parent without going through the longwait visa process.

Donald’s current wife, Melania, who came over as a model in 1996, became a citizen in 2006. In 2009, she sponsored her mom, Amalija, who passed away in January, to jump the visa line.

At the time, Melania had been married to Donald for four years and you can bet your last cent her blustering hubby helped with any costs or legal advice.

Then in August 2018, Amalija and hubby Viktor, who’d also come over, were sworn in as citizens of the U.S. in a private service.

Yet one year earlier, President Trump supported passing the Raise Act, which would have dramatically slashed the right of a U.S. citizen to bring in a family member from another country.

At the time, in one of his many jarring tweets, Trump slammed the “chain migration” process — with critics cringing the GOP stalwart was actually aiming at Hispanics and people of color.

“CHAIN MIGRATION must end now!” Trump tweeted. “Some people come in, and they bring their whole family with them, who can be truly evil.”

We can only assume Trump had his in-laws fully examined by an exorcist, who gave them the “all clear” stamp, certifying they weren’t possessed by demons, rapists, killers, hucksters or “truly evil” in any way.

Seriously, Trump has trashed the idea of chain migration for decades — except when it affected his own family. It was okey dokey as a tool to bring in Melania’s mom and dad.

The hypocrisy was even hard for Republican strategist Ana Navarro to stomach. At the time Donald’s in-laws were sworn in as citizens, she snarked, “I guess when it’s Melania’s family, it’s ‘family reunification’ and should be applauded. Everybody else, it’s ‘chain migration’ and must be stopped.”
