ASHEVILLE – Celebrate Christmas in July by watching a sneak peek of the new romantic holiday flick filmed at the historic Biltmore Estate.

Last January, Hallmark Channel’s original movie, “A Biltmore Christmas,” was filmed at Biltmore and the surrounding Asheville area.

The landmark Biltmore House — home of the famed entrepreneur George W. Vanderbilt and his family — was at the center of the production with other picturesque backdrops adding to the scenes.

This summer, Hallmark Channel released a commercial to give viewers a first look at what’s to come this holiday season when “A Biltmore Christmas” premieres.

The clip shows leading actors Bethany Joy Lenz and Kristoffer Polaha taking an evening stroll through Biltmore Gardens with the Conservatory in the distance.

Lenz plays the role of Lucy Collins, a screenwriter hired to write the remake of a fictional Christmas classic film in the present day. During a tour of Biltmore House, she accidentally knocks over a magical hourglass and travels to 1946 to the set of the original movie where she meets its leading man, Jack Huston, played by Polaha.

Lucy finds that her presence puts the production in jeopardy. And on top of trying to find a way home, she’s battling with unexpected and undeniable feelings for Jack.

The clock begins to tick down for Lucy, who must make things right before she can return to her time. If she fails, the future could be altered forever. The plot thickens as she finds it harder to part ways with Jack, who just may be her soulmate. It may take a bit of Christmas magic to save the day.

“A Biltmore Christmas” trailer aired on July 1 on Hallmark Channel.

The film will debut as a part of Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas programming during the 2023 holiday season.

In Asheville, Biltmore Estate will host a themed event to mark the occasion.

Biltmore’s Holiday Dinner Dance will be Dec. 8 at the estate and will celebrate the movie’s release with a special dinner “that blurs the lines of past and present.” The night will be filled with live music and dancing, too.

The ticketed event will be open to Biltmore annual pass holders only, who will be notified by the estate about how to register for the dinner series event.
