On the links… The Stamford Knights of Columbus Saint Augustine Council #41 will host its annual Frank Robotti Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit individuals with special needs. It takes place at the Sterling Farms Golf Course in Stamford at 8 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6. A luncheon will follow the tournament at the Knights of Columbus on Shippan Avenue in Stamford. The tournament committee’s aim is to generate resources and provide support and assistance to students and individuals with special needs by raising funds and awareness at the event and other related activities. Taste of the town… The New Canaan Chamber of Commerce’s eighth annual Taste of the Town Stroll to benefit the New Canaan Food Pantry takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23. More than 20 local restaurants and stores will participate in the event while collecting donations for the food pantry. Festivities will include an array of culinary delights from participating restaurants and over $4,000 in prizes. The rain date Friday, Aug. 24.
