Choral So­ci­ety’s hol­i­day con­certs

The Green­wich Choral So­ci­ety will hold its an­nual Hol­i­day Con­cert, with this year’s theme, “Joyeux Noël: From the Eif­fel Tower to Notre Dame” at 2:30 and 5 p.m. Sun­day at Christ Church Green­wich, 254 E. Put­nam Ave. A fes­ti­val of choral mu­sic by French com­posers, the con­certs will fea­ture the 100-voice Choral So­ci­ety with soloists, strings, harp and or­gan. Fran­cis Poulenc’s sense of hu­mor and love of life shine through all his mu­sic, and his set­ting of the “Glo­ria” is no ex­cep­tion with its cap­ti­vat­ing mix­ture of solem­nity and mis­chievous en­thu­si­asm. Also fea­tured will be works by Char­p­en­tier, Fauré, Gounod, and Saint-Saëns, un­der the di­rec­tion of Paul F. Mueller, mu­sic di­rec­tor and con­duc­tor.
