Scene… Fox 5 New York news anchor Ernie Anastos, who lives in Armonk, N.Y., and his wife, Kelly, were seen walking on Greenwich Avenue and visiting La Fenice Italian Gelateria last weekend. Anastos is an Emmy winner and a Hall of Fame Broadcaste­r. He is honored every March 21 with Ernie Anastos Day in New York City by Mayor Bill De Blasio,a Democratic candidate for president.

Out there… Dr. Christina Del Pin, a surgeon, was recently awarded the position of treasurer at the Morgagni Medical Society, the largest group of Italian American physicians in the country. Founded in 1890, the group was named after Giovanni Battista Morgagni, a clinical pathologis­t from the 18th century who was a professor of pathology at the University of Padua. The society was founded to foster the profession­al, intellectu­al and economic developmen­t of Italian American physicians struggling to establish themselves in an unwelcomin­g environmen­t at the turn of the 19th century. This marks the first time in 80 years that a woman has held the position. She lives in Cos Cob with her husband, private investor and radio host Gary Cella.

Scene… Grammy-winning country band Little Big Town will headline the 2019 Greenwich Wine + Food Festival, which will be held at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park. Celebrity chefs due to appear include actress Valerie Bertinelli, Geoffrey and Margaret Zakarian, Marc Murphy, David Burtka and Mary Giuliani. The event commences Sept. 20 with the Master Chef Wine Gala emceed by “Howard Stern Show” executive producer Gary Dell’Abate, a Riverside resident, and Emmy Awardwinni­ng director/writer Rob Burnett. On the second day of the event, on Sept. 21, there will be an array of food and beverages, chef demos and book signings, culminatin­g with a performanc­e by Little Big Town. Out there… The Walk to End Epilepsy, which supports epilepsy awareness and the Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticu­t, steps off this Sunday at Cove Island Park in Stamford. Kicking off the walk will be Stamford Mayor David Martin, motivation­al speaker Beth Usher and Westport resident Emma Borys, teen ambassador for the Epilepsy Foundation. On stage… “Rock Out For the Red White and Blue” takes the stage at 3 p.m. Sunday at The Palace Theatre in Stamford. The concert — presented by Stamford native Lisa May Melfi — will benefit Connecticu­t veterans in need of support as well as Stamford’s Veterans Park. Stamford native and renowned magician Tony Clark will serve as emcee at the event, which will feature performanc­es by local bands, Freeride, Jump The Gunn and Impulse. Out there… The Greenwich Chamber of Commerce will hold its Annual Awards Luncheon on Thursday at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich to honor local heroes who have gone above and beyond in giving back to the community.
