Susan Lucci celebrates anniversar­y in Belle Haven

Scene… Scarsdale, N.Y., native and Daytime Emmy Award-winning actress Susan Lucci and her husband Helmut Huber celebrated their wedding anniversar­y at The Homestead Inn-Thomas Henkelmann in the Belle Haven section of Greenwich last week. The 73-year-old actress, best known for her portrayal of the oft-married Erica Kane on the ABC daytime drama “All My Children” from 1970 to 2011, mentioned that it is their favorite place and shared a photo of her and her hubby of 51 years at the historic Inn and Restaurant on Instagram.

Out there… The Greenwich Historical Society is presenting a Zoom lecture about Anya Seton, the best-selling author of “The Winthrop Woman,” which chronicles the life of Greenwich’s founder Elizabeth Feake. The event, set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, will be presented by Lucinda MacKethan, author of the newly published book, “Anya Seton: A Writing Life.” Seton, who was born in 1904, was the daughter of writer and artist Ernest Thompson Seton and Grace Gallatin Seton, a leader in the women’s suffrage movement. He built the Wyndygoul estate in Cos Cob later known as Pomerance, where he started the Boy Scouts of America. The estate, located in Montgomery Pinetum on Orchard Street, was torn down in 2014. Scene… Actor and producer Chazz Palminteri, who lives in Bedford, N.Y., is opening an Italian restaurant called Chazz Palminteri Restaurant & Pizza at the former location of Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza on Main Street in White Plains, N.Y. Palminteri and his business partner Jack Sinanaj also own Chazz Palminteri’s Italian Restaurant in Manhattan.

Out there… The Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens in Stamford is offering a fourweek Botanical Illustrati­on Class in October. At the workshop led by Kathie Miranda, a contempora­ry multimedia artist, educator and past-president of the New York chapter of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrato­rs, students will learn how to create a realistic botanical drawing using seasonal plants from the Bartlett’s collection­s as inspiratio­n. Classes take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 1, Oct. 8, Oct. 15 and Oct. 22. Participan­ts will be seated six feet apart. Class size is limited to 25. The registrati­on deadline is Sept. 24. Out there… Greenwich Library’s AuthorsLiv­e is featuring a virtual conversati­on with award-winning author Jacqueline Woodson at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29. She has penned several children’s books, including “The Day You Begin,” “Brown Girl Dreaming” and her most recent bestseller “Red at the Bone.” Woodson will be joined in conversati­on with local author and longtime Greenwich educator Valerie Bolling, author of the picture book “Let’s Dance!” A limited number of signed copies of Woodson’s books will be available to purchase through Diane’s Books. Out there… Dana’s Angels Research Trust will sponsor its DART to the Finish Charity Walk from Sept. 26 to Oct. 3. Participan­ts can walk anywhere to support DART, a nonprofit formed by Phil and Andrea Marella of Greenwich. The funds raised will be used to research treatments for Niemann-Pick type C disease, a rare genetic metabolic disorder with no cure. The 2-mile walk can be completed at a park, in your neighborho­od, yard, beach or treadmill. Participan­ts who register will receive a DART to the Finish T-shirt.
