Family Centers auctions classic roadster as part of fall benefit

GREENWICH — Family Centers, a Fairfield County nonprofit, is auctioning off a classic 1951 MG-TD convertibl­e as part of its “Roaring Twenties” benefit this fall.

The car was donated by Ginny and Sean Day, who are supporters of Greenwich-based Family Centers and its work in the community. The classic car features the original 1250cc four cylinder engine, leather interior and four-speed transmissi­on.

Tickets for the raffle are $100 and all proceeds will benefit Family Centers’ 25 health, education and human service programs that operate in Greenwich, Stamford and across the county, according to a statement.

The benefit is set for 6:30 p.m. Sept. 18 at a private Greenwich residence. The benefit committee is co-chaired by Kate Clark, Bri Hart, Susannah Heyworth, Ashley Reid and Carter Simonds.

Family Centers partners with the United Way, Community Fund of Darien and New Canaan Community Foundation, with more than 200 profession­als and 1,200 trained volunteers working to provide community programs. Family Centers is a member of the Connecticu­t Council of Family Service Agencies and is

accredited by the Joint Commission and the National Associatio­n for the Education of Young Children, or NAEYC. The agency is licensed by the state of Connecticu­t Department of Public Health.
