‘Young and the Restless’ star seen grocery shopping in CT

Scene … Actor Peter Bergman, best known for his roles on the popular soap operas “All My Children” and “The Young and the Restless,” was seen grocery shopping at Stop & Shop in Greenwich on Friday.

Scene … Greenwich native Maria Scrivan, the bestsellin­g author of the “Nat Enough,” “Forget Me Nat” and “Absolutely Nat,” spoke at the new Athena Books in Old Greenwich last Tuesday in a free community event. Scrivan spoke to elementary and middle school students about her experience­s growing up in Greenwich and how her childhood inspired her best-selling graphic novel series. She also taught attendees how to draw cartoons and signed books complete with cartoon illustrati­ons. Athena Books has promised to celebrate the launch of Scrivan’s fourth book to be released in 2023.

Out there … Several women-led business are joining forces Tuesday at J. McLaughlin Greenwich in celebratio­n of Internatio­nal Women’s Day and to raise funds to support the Parsonage Cottage senior residence in Greenwich. The “Shop for a Cause” event hosted by Sue Moretti Bodson, president of Emboss LLC, and Bobbi Eggers, of Eggers Communicat­ions, will also include Penny Lore, executive director of Parsonage Cottage; Tamara Smith, Parsonage Cottage resident services coordinato­r; and entreprene­ur Laura Sabia, founder and publisher of Greenwich Lifestyle Magazine. The event will culminate with a “sip and shop” from 5 to 7 p.m. with refreshmen­ts and a talk by women who head up local businesses.

Out there … The Greenwich Historical Society is featuring a guided tour, “The Holley Women and the Cos Cob Art Colony,” from noon to 1 p.m. on March 12. The historical society’s Assistant Curator of Interpreta­tion and Collection­s Kelsie Dalton will detail events and elements of the Holley women’s lives in the Progressiv­e Era, including their business dealings, political participat­ion, artistic pursuits, and life and motherhood in Cos Cob in the early 20th century. Scene … The annual Greenwich Reunion Florida East Coast took place on Feb. 26 at The Jupiter Beach Pavilion in Jupiter, Fla. The annual event is organized by Frank Zeranski and Ed Van Gordon for Greenwich residents living and vacationin­g in Florida. The 80-plus attendees enjoyed an array of good food, including Gary Texiere’s “hotsy” chili and raffle prizes. The next reunion takes place on Feb. 25, 2023.

Scene … Actor William Shatner, best known for his role as Capt. James Kirk in the “Star Trek” franchise, was seen at Rein’s Deli in Vernon on Friday, ordering one of their signature sandwiches. The 90year-old star, who took the time to pose for a photo with the shop’s co-owner Russ DeBella, became the oldest person to go to space last October as part the second crewed spacefligh­t by Blue Origin, founded by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

Out there … Comedian, actress and author Sandra Bernhard will perform live on stage at the Westport Country Playhouse’s “Evening of Comedy and Music” at 8 p.m. March 12. Bernhard, who will be performing throughout 2022 around the country, is now in the seventh year hosting her own live show, “Sandyland,” on SiriusXM Radio’s “Radio Andy” channel (102), headed up by talk show host Andy Cohen.
