Saxophonis­t Crispin Cioe plays in Southport; Evan Ross, Ashlee Simpson dine in Greenwich

Scene… Legendary saxophone player Crispin Cioe performed at an open jam at the Horseshoe Café in Southport at its Holiday Spectacula­r Show Christmas on Dec. 19. Cioe and his horn section group, Uptown Horns, toured with The Rolling Stones on their Steel Wheels tour and played on James Brown’s hit song “Living in America.” They were inducted into the New England Music Hall of Fame in 2022.

Scene… Bedford, N.Y. resident and producer/actor Chazz Palminteri and his wife Gianna and their children were seen dining at Peppino’s Ristorante in on Katonah Avenue in Mt. Kisco, N.Y. on Christmas Eve.

Out there… The Greenwich Library Friends Friday Films program will feature a showing of "The Lost City" starring Daniel Radcliffe, Sandra Bullock, Brad Pitt and Channing Tatum on Friday, Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. For more info, go to www.greenwichl­ibrary.org.

Scene… Singer and actress and Chappaqua, N.Y. resident Vanessa Williams was seen dining at Mentor’s Mediterran­ean Steakhouse in Chappaqua last week.

Out there... The Netflix docuseries “Madoff: The Monster of Wall Street," based on the book "Madoff Talks: Uncovering the Untold Story Behind the Most Notorious Ponzi Scheme in History" written by Old Greenwich resident Jim Campbell, aired on Jan. 4. RadicalMed­ia and Joe Berlinger (“Paradise Lost,” and “Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich”) are behind the series, which explores the rise and fall of the notorious financier who died in prison while serving a 150-year prison sentence for bilking investors out of billions of dollars. Campbell, who spent a decade talking to Bernie Madoff in prison, is among those interviewe­d for the docuseries. Campbell was also interviewe­d by CBS correspond­ent Jim Axelrod on “CBS Sunday Morning” last spring.

Out there… A comedy night starring Jane Condon and Andy Pitz is taking place at Christ Church Greenwich Parish Hall on Friday, Jan. 20 at 6:30 p.m. The evening of laughter will feature a taco bar buffet dinner, drinks and margaritas. Scene... Jenna Bush Hager, author and co-host of NBC’s “Today with Hoda & Jenna,” and her daughter were seen having lunch at Mediterran­eo Restaurant on Greenwich Avenue Christmas week.

Scene… Actor Evan Ross and his wife, singer-songwriter Ashlee Simpson, were seen having lunch at MIKU Sushi Bar and Restaurant on Greenwich Avenue on Dec. 23. The couple were most likely in town to celebrate the holidays with Ross’s mom, Motown diva Diana Ross who lives in Belle Haven.

Out there… Greenwich Historical Society archives and curatorial staff will host an afternoon in the James Stevenson and Josie Merck Stevenson Library and Archives this Sunday, Jan. 8 at 2 p.m. The program will delve into the life of celebrated American impression­ist John Henry Twachtman and explore his ties to the Holley family in Cos Cob.
