Actor Chevy Chase dines with family in Stamford
Scene… Bedford, N.Y., resident and actor Chevy Chase was spotted dining at The Wheel at The Village in Stamford with his wife Jayni and daughters last week celebrating his daughter Cydney's 40th birthday. Anchoring The Village is Greenwich resident Brent Montgomery's Wheelhouse, launched in 2018 in partnership with TV personality Jimmy Kimmel.
Out there… Greenwich Library is hosting a lecture by The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Laura D. Corey on impressionist painter and printmaker Mary Cassatt on Sunday, Jan. 22 at 2 p.m. The event takes place in the Berkley Theater at the Greenwich Library. Out there… Greenwich's Christine Lai was recently selected as a 2022 Patriots Difference Maker of the Week for her commitment to the Special Education Legal Fund. S.E.L.F. helps economically challenged families of children with learning disabilities to navigate the special education system. Following over a decade of educational challenges for her own son, Lai dedicated herself to making special education and services for people with intellectual disabilities more accessible to all families regardless of economic status. Throughout the 2022 season, the Kraft
family, the New England Patriots Foundation and Gillette recognized 17 local volunteers with the “Patriots Difference Maker of the Week Award.” As part of this recognition, the Kraft family, the New England Patriots Foundation and Gillette will be making a $5,000
donation to support the nonprofit organization represented by each honoree who also received a pair of tickets to the Patriots final home game on Jan. 1 against the Miami Dolphins and participated in a pregame ceremony.

Chicken, one of the first Nashville hot chicken concepts in New England, is opening its third location at 596 Westport Ave. in Norwalk on Saturday, Jan. 28. On opening day, they will be giving away free sandwiches to the first 300 guests to visit the new spot. The 2,500square-foot location will feature the brand's signature menu of chicken recipes and vegetarian options ranging from not spicy to extremely spicy as well as their famous fries and sides. The restaurant's signature item was voted “Best Chicken Sandwich” in Connecticut Magazine's annual Readers Poll in 2021.
Scene… Fairfield County Look is holding a book launch for author, actress and Greenwich resident Deborah Goodrich Royce's new read, "Reef Road." The event, at the Arch Street Teen Center in Greenwich on Thursday, Jan. 19 at 11:30 a.m., will start with a reception and light lunch by Nikki Glekas Events. Then, Royce will be interviewed by Zibby Owens, an American writer and podcast host based in New York City, and afterwards sign copies of her book. Diane's Books will be on site to sell books.
