Nora S. Kayaloff

Nora Kayaloff passed away in peace on November 30, 2023.
She was a longtime resident of New York City and in October 2021, moved to the Mews, a senior residence in Greenwich, CT.
Nora was born in Tenafly, NJ on November 27, 1919, the daughter of Pia Ghione and Ettore Soffiantino (Piedmont, Italy), She was predeceased by her first husband, John Lovisolo, and by her late husband, Christopher Kayaloff; sisters, Rosa Soffiantino, Linda Beraud, and niece, Anne Kayaloff Pisarra.
Nora is survived by her niece, Silvia Murru, husband, Giulio, grandnephews, Lorenzo and Riccardo Murru (Italy); nephew, Alex Beraud, wife, Beatrice, grandniece, Diana, husband, Xavier Lambert (France); nephew, Salvatore Pisarra (North Carolina); greatgrandnieces, Emanuela Ugherani (Italy), Laurie Austen, son, Zack Kern (North Carolina) and Dr. Karen Austen (Texas), as well as many close friends.
Nora was an talented seamstress in the fashion industry. She was an avid reader and frequently visited museums. Nora greatly enjoyed the opera and concerts, especially performances by her late husband, Christopher, a professional cellist. She often traveled throughout Europe and the United States. Nora was very adept at cultivating plants and flowers which graced her windowsills! She had a great love for all animals, especially for her pet cats.
A very social person, Nora had a sharp wit, sense of humor and was a great storyteller. Her kindness, warmth and affection were a gift to all who were blessed to be in her presence. Nora's family and friends extend their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at the Mews for their exceptional care, dedication and assistance during her two years at the residence, and also wish to thank the aides at Sunshine Care.
At Nora's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service and her ashes be taken out to sea. Nora's wish is that we hold her in our hearts and share fond memories. Rest in peace, Nora.
