Jupiter—Charles Francis DiGiovanna, 83, passed away peacefully at his home in Jupiter, FL, on Saturday, December 30, 2023, with his wife, Christine, by his side.

He is survived by his sons, Charles Patrick, James Francis, daughter, Anne Catherine, grandchild­ren, Meghan and Shane DiGiovanna, sisters, Lynda O’Grady and Rosalie Mangels, former wife, Kathleen DiGiovanna; and predecease­d by his daughter, Kara Marie DiGiovanna.

Charlie was born in Manhattan, NY to Salvatore L. and Catherine (Cipolla) DiGiovanna, where his introducti­on to fishing and boating began and continued throughout his life. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in the ROTC program with a degree in business and went on to serve in the United States Army as officer, flight instructor, based in Fort Rucker, Alabama.

After the military service, Charlie went on to pursue his business acumen beginning with Montgomery Ward, Penn Fruit and onto Darome Inc., heading the world’s largest and first American teleconfer­encing service with offices in the United States, Toronto and London. Charlie later went on to Continenta­l Plastic Containers as President and

CEO. During this time, he served on the Board of Directors for Nantucket Bank.

Charlie was a member of the Milbrook Club, Greenwich, CT, where he served as President, as well as serving on the Homeowners Assn. He joined Jonathan’s Landing Golf Club in 1993 and went on to serve as Treasurer then President of the Property Owners Assn.

Charlie enjoyed lifelong hobbies of fishing, boating and golfing. Charlie was ever loyal to family, friends and of course, to Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish. In recent years, even as his health became difficult, life was still, in Charlie’s words, “almost perfect.”
