Trying to write, amid moving mess

This column will be a bit short, as it is moving day for this so-called writer. The result — I can’t find anything! And that is not because my wonderful daughter hasn’t done everything she could to get everything organized. It just seems that I have not taken heart and gotten myself organized.

The following things have happened: One — I can’t find my pencils, and I don’t need to tell you how important that is to someone who writes. Along the same lines I can’t find my brush and comb, so you can imagine what my hair looks like! My friends tell me that my hair looks that way anyway.

Then there is all the stuff for the kitchen, including the most important, such as the things that go into the dishwasher, the stuff that goes into the washing machine, to say nothing of the stuff that goes into what I am trying to find, but cannot.

Then there is, what in the world did I do with all my lightweight shirts, seeing how summer is here now, and, of course, I can’t find the skirts and pants that are supposed to go with them.

Then there is the delightful small chair given to me by my great-grandfather. It is just the greatest, and of course I can’t find it! I got some help with the situation from my best friend, who always knows where everything is, unlike me.

I have been thinking that some people get organized quickly. I am not one of them to say the least, not by a long shot. As a matter of fact, I can just about get myself going in the morning.

I must say though, I do like to get up and write my column to all of you. I hope that you like what I have to say. Sometimes I like what I have to say, but sometimes I don’t, with extremely good reason, and that is true on some days, and definitely not on other days.

When I was looking through my stuff I came across some amazing things from the past. Evidently, I took umbrage at the days when storms made a noise that one could hear.

Well, it looks as if I have found some of my belongings, although there are a lot more to find. I hope that by next week I will be able to write a full column, as I feel the ideas are coming.
