- GIRLS LACROSSE | GAME TO WATCH FOR WEEK 5

Will Huntington, Fairfield Prep: Shot a 2-under-par 33 on the O’Sullivan Nine at Race Brook CC to help the Jesuits defeat host Notre Dame-West Haven 150-157.

Will Harred, Brunswick: Posted a 35 at Yale GC to help Brunswick top Hopkins 212-222.

Luke Karpiej, Hale-Ray: His even-par 36 at Black Birch GC helped Hale-Ray defeat Old Saybrook 207-221. Karpiej also shot 38 in Hale-Ray’s 188-207 loss to North Branford.

Ben James and Jackson Roman, Hamden Hall: Roman shot a 34 at Apawamis CC to help Hamden Hall defeat Rye (N.Y.) 186-220. James advanced to U.S. Open sectional qualifying earlier in the day at Shuttle Meadow CC. Roman also attempted to qualify.

Reece Scott and Matt Doyle, Hand: Doyle made an albatross on the sixth hole at Madison CC en route to a 4-under-par 31 in a win over Guilford. Then he and Scott both shot 35 at Madison CC to help Hand defeat Shelton 144-163 and sweep the season series from the Gaels.

Brett Chodos, Amity: Shot 1-under 35 at Alling Memorial GC beat Wilbur Cross 158-223, then shot the same number - which was even par this time at The Tradition at Wallingfor­d to help the Spartans defeat North Haven 160226.

Jake Ivan-Pal and Jon Bushka, Notre Dame-West Haven: Ivan-Pal and Buska shot 32 and 34, respective­ly, on the O’Sullivan Nine at Race Brook CC to help Notre Dame defeat Law 149-199.

Sydney Hidalgo, Cheshire: Shot 38 at the O’Sullivan Nine at Race Brook CC to help the Rams defeat host Amity 185-193.

Leni Lemcke, Staples: Shot a 3-over 41 at Longshore GC to help Staples beat Danbury 188-254.

Cameron Seiffert, Killingly: Made three birdies en route to a 37 at Quinnatiss­et CC to help Killingly defeat Woodstock Academy 170-186.

Tyler Pearson, Shelton: Posted a 35 at Brownson CC to help Shelton beat Xavier 149-173.

MILESTONES

Anna Makover, Brien McMahon: The senior captain scored her 100th and 101st career goals during the Senators’ 16-4 victory over Danbury last Thursday.

Bella Miceli, Joel Barlow: Miceli scored her 200th career goal during Barlow’s 17-6 win over Masuk last Friday. In four games last week, the senior had 31 goals, four assists, 10 ground balls and six caused turnovers.

TOP PERFORMERS

Mia Celentano, Sacred Heart Academy: The senior netted five goals to help lead SHA past Foran 18-4 on Tuesday.

Grace Collier, Greenwich: The Williams College-bound Collier collected three goals, one assist, four draw controls and seven ground balls in a 15-5 win over Trumbull on Tuesday.

Sam Forrest, Glastonbur­y: Forrest, a senior, collected five goals in the Guardians’ 14-9 loss to Cheshire last Thursday.

Christina Guanci, Glastonbur­y: Guanci, a junior attacker, scored five goals and had four assists in Glastonbur­y’s 14-5 victory over Daniel Hand on Saturday.

Abigail Johnson and Oumou Diallo, Middletown: Johnson, a freshman, had a hat trick and scored the game-winning goal in overtime as Middletown topped EO Smith 6-5 on May 4. Diallo, a senior goalie, had a save percentage of 70 in the win.

Maddigan Leifer, St. Joseph: The junior had four goals, eight assists, and five draw controls when the Cadets defeated town rival Trumbull 15-1 on Saturday.

Alison MacDougall, Pomperaug: MacDougall collected 11 saves and allowed just five goals in the Panthers’ 15-5 win over Notre Dame on Tuesday.

Guilford at Cheshire, Friday, 6 p.m.: Round two. Guilford owns the top spot in the SCC Div. I standings, with Cheshire a game back. The Grizzlies won the first meeting 17-10 but Cheshire has home field this time.

Glastonbur­y at New Canaan, Saturday, 11 a.m.: Glastonbur­y makes the tip south to take on the state’s No. 1 team in New Canaan. The Guardians have been hot with eight wins in their last nine games, but the Rams have defeated all challenger­s so far.

Greenwich at Ludlowe, Saturday, 11:30 a.m.: The separation between the Cardinals and Falcons in the FCIAC and Class L standings is

scored five goals and had one assist as the Rams defeated Glastonbur­y 14-9 last Thursday. Cheshire is 10-3 and ranked No. 10 in the state coaches poll.

Liz Neri, Farmington: The junior middie scored four goals in a 14-7 victory over Granby last Tuesday, bringing her season total to 27. She has seven multi-goal games this spring, and in two seasons has scored 70 career goals.

Dillyn Patten, New Canaan: Patten, a junior attack, racked up four goals and one assist as the Rams defeated Ludlowe 11-7 last Friday. New Canaan is unbeaten this season and ranks No. 1 in the Connecticu­t Coaches Poll.

Susan Rawding, Brookfield: The senior had eight points on seven goals and one assists in the Bobcats’ 14-3 win over Notre Dame-Fairfield on Saturday.

Morgan Reilly, Bunnell: Reilly had 11 points on six goals and five narrow, making this a key game for playoff seeding.

Daniel Hand at Simsbury, Saturday, noon: Daniel Hand has gone outside the SCC for four tough games and has been defeated each time. Here, the Tigers head to Simsbury to face a CCC contender which has five straight wins heading into the weekend.

Weston at Newtown, Saturday, 12:30 p.m.: The Nighthawks have been rolling this season, going 11-1 with the lone loss coming by one goal to New Fairfield. Weston has been trading wins and losses and is looking to create some momentum heading into the playoffs. assists in the Bulldogs’ 15-13 loss to Notre Dame on Wednesday.

Veronica Rrapi, Notre DameFairfi­eld: The freshman amassed nine goals in a 15-13 victory over Bunnell on Wednesday.

Lily Schoonmake­r, Mercy: Schoonmake­r, a sophomore, collected seven goals and one assist in Mercy’s 16-9 victory over North Haven on Tuesday.

Kaleigh Sommers, Ludlowe: The junior collected five goals in an 11-7 loss to New Canaan last Friday. The Falcons are 9-3 and are ranked No. 4 in the state.

Gwen Sullivan, Wilton: Sullivan, a junior, led the Warriors with five goals as they defeated Cheshire 13-4 on Saturday. Wilton is 7-2 and ranked No. 3 in the state.

Taylor Warburton, Cheshire: Warburton led the Rams with four goals and one assist as they defeated Daniel Hand 10-6 on Tuesday.

Darien at Ludlowe, Tuesday, 4 p.m.: Ludlowe’s challengin­g stretch continues when it hosts No. 2 Darien.

Greenwich at Darien, Thursday, 4 p.m.: Two perennial FCIAC contenders clash in a late-season matchup. The Cardinals are closing the regular season with road games at second-ranked Darien and No. 3 Wilton.
