Leaf Collages
The Bruce Museum will host “Art Adventures Leaf Collages” from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The drop-in program is designed for children ages 4 and up and their families to take part to a fun craft and creative works of art inspired by the museum’s collections and exhibitions. Greenwich Symphony
The Greenwich Symphony Orchestra will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at Greenwich High School under conductor Martin Majkut and with George Li on piano. Adventure talks
Christ Church Greenwich at 254 E. Putnam Ave. will host two events with Jennifer Pharr Davis, National Geographic’s Adventurer of the Year, on Sunday. In the first talk at 11:15 a.m. in the Parish Hall, she will speak on “A Cry in the Desert,” about how her five-month journey shaped her life, faith and worldview. At 5 p.m., she will take part in a lecture, book signing and reception on “Faith & The Outdoors: Hearing a Voice in the Wilderness” at Dogwood Books and Gifts. She is an adventurer, author, speaker and entrepreneur who has hiked over 14,000 miles on

Pain in the neck
Greenwich Hospital’s Dr. Jawad Rashid, a pain management specialist, will discuss “Neck and Lower Back Pain: Holistic Treatments” from noon to 1 p.m. Nov. 23 via Zoom. Chronic pain sufferers are at greater risk for increased pain during the COVID pandemic due to the interplay between pain, anxiety and depression. Learn about comprehensive and holistic, team-based approaches to neck and back pain. That will include therapy, injections, medication and surgery to improve quality of life. Beginner Bridge
A beginning bridge class is offered from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays at the Greenwich YMCA with the Perfectly Polite Beginner Bridge group. No knowledge of bridge is required. YMCA members pay $30, nonmembers pay $35 per class. Preregistration by phone is required before 6 p.m. Mondays. Players must show COVID-19 vaccination cards. Masks required. Food donations
The Parish of St. Catherine of Siena and St. Agnes accepts food donations for Neighbor to Neighbor from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays in its parking area at 4 Riverside Ave. Items needed include peanut butter and jelly, oatmeal, canned meat, tuna, canned fruit, dried or canned beans, cereal, rice and soup as well as household cleaners and toiletries. St Paul’s Episcopal Church at 200 Riverside Ave. accepts donations from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays for the food pantry.
In-person bridge
The Perfectly Polite Bridge Group invites players to attend Relaxed Bridge on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. and/or 12:30 p.m. Contact Frank Crocker by 6 p.m. Tuesday at 203-524-8032 to play. Santa arrives
Sam Bridge Nurseries and Greenhouses will usher in the holiday season with the arrival of Santa and three of his reindeer on Nov. 26 for the 13th annual Greenwich Reindeer Festival and Santa’s Workshop. This year’s event will include is a celebration for the town’s health care workers and front-line heroes at Greenwich Hospital with the unveiling of mural sponsored by C. Parker Gallery and created by artist Rick Garcia at noon. Visitors can sign the mural and add messages before it is sent to the hospital. The reindeer will be at Sam Bridge until Dec. 22. Santa will be meeting with kids until Christmas Eve. The hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is closed on Sundays. Tree & wreath sale
The First Congregational Church of Greenwich at 108 Sound Beach Ave. will hold its 55th annual Christmas Tree & Wreath Sale on its front lawn of the church. All proceeds from the sales will be donated to six local charities: Kids in Crisis, the Young Adults Program at Pacific House, Fund for New Covenant Center, Mothers for Others, Community Centers Inc. and Building One Community. At 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, volunteers will unload more than 400 New Hampshire-grown Fraser fir and balsam fir trees of all sizes from the flatbed delivery truck. Then the sale will begin at about 9 a.m. The sale will also feature over 200 double-sided balsam wreaths from Quebec along with decorating kits, natural pine roping and top quality tree stands. Fall colors
The Bruce Museum will host “Science Solvers Hidden Colors of Fall” from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 27 and Nov. 28. The drop-in program is designed for children ages 4 and up and their families. Turkey trot
Registration is open for the Greenwich Alliance for Education‘s 11th annual Turkey Trot on Saturday, Nov. 27. The largest community event of the Thanksgiving weekend, the race’s proceeds support Alliance programs that benefit Greenwich Public School students and teachers. Registration is $30 for adults and $15 for children ages 13 and younger. The fee will increase Nov. 1 and again on race day. Speakers at Retired Men’s group
The Greenwich Retired Men’s Association offers a free speakers program Wednesdays in the Fellowship Hall at the First Presbyterian Church, 1 W. Putnam Ave. It is open to the public. Winter Market & Holiday Festival
To usher in the holiday season, the Greenwich Historical Society is holding its annual Winter Market and Holiday Festival programs. The Winter Market will be held at Christ Church Greenwich at 254 E. Putnam Ave. from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Dec. 2; 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 3 and 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 4. Vendors will be selling holiday gifts, jewelry, clothing, specialty foods, flowers and other items. The opening night festivities will include live music, cocktails and a holiday raffle. The suggested entry donation is $20. The Festival of Trees will be held at the GHS from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 2, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 3 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 4. Also, swing by the Holiday Festival at the Greenwich Historical Society from 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 3 as the campus comes alive for the holidays. Topiary Tree
The Greenwich Botanical Center & Abilis will host a workshop to build a “Boxwood Holiday Topiary Tree” from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 6. Join veteran florist and designer René DeLaurentis to create your own unique holiday décor with the versatile evergreen boxwood tree. The location will be Abilis Gardens & Gifts; 50 Glenville Street. Biltmore holidays
The Greenwich Decorative Arts Society presents “Christmas with the Vanderbilts: Holiday Entertaining at Biltmore,” from 1 to 2 p.m. Dec. 6. The lecture will be presented by Lesley Klingner, curator of interpretation at the Biltmore estate in Asheville, N.C. She will speak on the tradition of grand entertaining that has lasted more than 125 years at the estate. The fee for non-members is $25.
