Warrant: Norwalk man had sexual cellphone conversations with minor

STAMFORD — A 31year-old Norwalk man allegedly had “sexually explicit” conversations with an 11-year-old Stamford girl on a secret phone that he gave her, according to an arrest warrant.

Alexis Gaitan Garcia, 31, was arrested on charges of enticing a minor and risk of injury to a minor for what police describe in warrants as an inappropriate relationship with the child.

Stamford police officer Brian Donahue writes in the arrest warrant that police received reports about Gaitan Garcia from a concerned person on Oct. 15.

The person told investigators that she had recently discovered a cellphone hidden beneath a dresser in the 11-year-old’s bedroom, Donahue wrote.

On the phone, police found a Snapchat account that detailed numerous “sexually explicit” conversations with an account later traced back to Gaitan Garcia, according to the warrant.

Over the course of several Snapchat conversations, the user of the account solicited nude photos and videos of the girl, Donahue writes in the warrant. They also made plans to meet up for several sexual rendezvous, according to the warrant.

Both Gaitan Garcia and the girl denied ever having sexual contact, Donahue wrote. The 11-year-old girl also reportedly told her older sister in private that a man she identified as Gaitan Garcia “did something” to her, the warrant said.

The alleged contact between the two started after a gathering at a Stamford park in June, according to the warrant. It was around this time, the warrant states, that Gaitan Garcia allegedly gave the 11-yearold a phone so that she could communicate with him.

Following his arraignment, Gaitan Garcia was released after posting a $150,000 bond.

Before being released, Gaitan Garcia was barred by court order from having any contact with the child. Judge Gary White also ordered him to undergo GPS monitoring and intensive probation services.

Gaitan Garcia is next scheduled to appear in court on June 1.
