Hearst Connecticut Media Group is in the process of consolidating its printing press operations for the publication of this newspaper.

The change, as previously reported, will involve using a more modernized press at fellow Hearst Newspapers publication the Albany Times Union, in New York.

HCMG’s President and Publisher Mike DeLuca said the change was necessary to extend the runway of the company’s eight daily print newspapers, an important area of the business in addition to its many digital news platforms.

Starting Friday, readers of this newspaper will see some changes in the newsroom content to accommodate this change. As we strive to get the print products to your door on time and allow for additional trucking time from Albany to Connecticut, it will mean earlier content deadlines for our daily newspapers.

As such, late sports scores will instead be updated via the online e-edition of this newspaper, as well as published in print the following day. Late games that conclude after press times will continue to be available online that evening and beyond, as well as via QR codes in print which will direct readers straight to the online coverage. Instructions on how to use QR codes will be provided near the story. Most late breaking sports coverage will continue to appear in the next available edition. We will also be extending our sports coverage, with extra pages being added to our papers when high school sports and UConn gear up in the fall.

Daytime lottery results will continue to be available in print, although nightly draws will not.

Late breaking news coverage will continue to be widely available online via desktop, mobile, the CT Insider app, multiple online newsletters and more — all part of your print subscription. Much of the content will also continue to be available in the next available print edition. If you have not activated your online account, please contact customer services via escalations@ctpost.com. You can also share any feedback on these changes with this team.
