Henry Clay Huth, Jr. passed away on August 24, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Cambridge, Ohio, on April 28, 1957, he was the son of the late Henry Clay Huth and Alison Schultz Huth.

Known as Hank, he grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, Saratoga, California, and Elkhart, Indiana. He graduated from Albion College in 1979 with a degree in accounting. He was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity where he made life-long friends. Hank started his career at Peat Marwick in Detroit, Michigan.

He moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he was a manager in the tax division at Arthur Andersen. He met Boo, his wife of 39 years, in Chicago.

They moved to Darien and then Riverside, Connecticu­t, where Hank became involved in many franchises, including Blockbuste­r Video, Boston Market, Einstein Brothers Bagels, Palm Beach Tan, and Dunkin’ Donuts. An avid outdoorsma­n, he enjoyed hunting, skiing, fishing, skeet shooting and golfing.

He loved country music, was an extremely good dancer, couldn’t sing a note, was a connoisseu­r of fine wines. He had a terrific sense of humor and a laugh that was infectious. He was a member of the Greenwich Country Club, Riverside Yacht Club, the Gasparilla Inn Beach Club and Old Sandwich Golf Club. He loved the beach, whether it be on Martha’s Vineyard or Boca Grande, where he collected shark’s teeth and wampum shells. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife Barbara “Boo” King Huth, and his children Halsey Huth, Abby Huth Donohue, Phebe Huth, Brecky Huth and his sonin-law Peter Donohue. He is survived by his siblings Paul Huth and Krystol, Cami Huth O’Herren and her husband Greg, and Zach Huth; his mother-in-law Barbara B. King; and his sister and brother-in-law Muffy and Andy Fox.

His father-in-law William A. King predecease­d him. He had twelve nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Riverside Yacht Club on September 16, 2022, at 4 p.m. Please dress brightly. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Hank Huth Albion College Sigma Chi Scholarshi­p Fund or the Fisher House Foundation in his name.
