Situated on a 0.57-acre lot, the four-bedroom single-family home at 8 Scott Road in Greenwich is offered to the market for $1.299 million. Broker Kelly Feda, with Coldwell Banker Realty’s Greenwich brokerage, is the seller’s Realtor. She introduced Greenwich Time to the homeowner, Alex Magid, who spoke about his family’s time living here.

They purchased the 1931era home in 2020 as their primary residence.

“It was a complete fixer-upper—a down-to-thestuds fixer-upper,” Magid recalled.

The couple began with structural and mechanical improvements. They put on a new roof, added new water and septic lines, and better insulated the house. “We created a whole new kitchen and three new bathrooms, including the master bath, which has heated floors,” Magid said. Magid said they didn’t cut any corners with the renovation work.

The main level comprises a foyer, dining room, family room (with a fireplace), a full bath, mudroom, home office and one of the bedrooms.

Before deciding on the kitchen design, they studied design ideas on Instagram and Pinterest. “We really wanted an open-concept, so that you would be able to see from the kitchen into the main living room,” he recalled.

They selected a simple, but eye-catching color scheme—navy blue, white and gold.

A family friend owns a cabinet-making business in Delaware, so they asked the company to custom-craft the cabinetry for the kitchen. Planning for big family gatherings and Thanksgivings here, they incorporated three ovens into the design.

The home also has a first-floor home office that’s filled with natural light. “It’s the perfect office, where you can easily see who’s coming up the driveway—in case you’re waiting for the mail or expecting a package. It also has a great view out over the yard and down the rest of Scott Road,” the seller said. Upstairs, on the second level, there are three additional bedrooms, including the primary suite. During their renovation work in 2020, the Magids raised the ceiling in the attic level, enabling them to create usable living space there. They used it as a “hangout room,” with a golf simulator, shuffleboard and ping-pong games.

The house is complemented by a detached two-car garage. That structure has some built-in flexibility, the seller suggested. They’ve considered turning it into a pool house (for a future pool site) or a guest house— reimagined livable space. This property is located in the Parkway School district, which feeds into Central Middle School and Greenwich High School. “We absolutely love the Banksville area and this little community,” Magid said. He recounted block parties and Halloween events for the kids. They’ve appreciated having a market and pizza shop close by, and the seven-minute proximity to Armonk. Downtown Greenwich is just 12 minutes away, he noted.
