5 Upland Rd., Greenwich, is offered to the market for the first time in more than 35 years. The seller enlisted Julie Grace Burke, a Realtor with Compass Connecticut in Greenwich, as the listing Realtor.

The house was built in 1979. Today, the 4,211 square feet of interior space remains bright, airy and inviting, with an abundance of windows and glass doors to enjoy the natural landscaping that embraces the house. Burke likens the experience to “living among the treetops.”

The main-level floor plan begins just inside the front door, which opens to a foyer. Tucked away to the right is the powder room and one of the bedrooms—one of two options for a primary bedroom suite.

Back in the foyer, the public rooms sit to the left, including a spacious living room, with a fireplace; a dining room; kitchen, family room, mudroom, laundry and access out to the attached two-car garage. A clever “hidden” wet bar is adjacent to the living room, making it convenient for day-to-day use or when hosting special occasions. Over the years, the owners made a number of improvements to the home, including adding the sunroom, a mudroom and another bedroom and bath to the second level.

“To me, the single most wonderful thing about 5 Upland, from an agent’s perspective, is the flexibility of the space,” Burke told Greenwich Time. “It truly holds appeal for almost any buyer profile, from downsizers moving into the next phase of their lives, to a young couple just starting out, an artist or anyone who is looking for incredible light and clean design—or a landscape lover in search of their own botanic garden to nurture. The oversized lot allows for thoughtful and creative expansion.”

For outdoor living, dining and entertaining, there are multiple decks and patios. The homeowners lovingly tended to the landscaping over the years, preserving mature trees for privacy, while adding perennials for seasonal color and texture. The home’s walkout lower

level comprises three additional bedrooms, including a second option for a primary bedroom suite. Both of the primary bedroom suite options have fireplaces. The two additional bedrooms on the lower level share a full bath. The fifth and final bedroom—which might also work well as a home office—is on the partial second level, where there’s also a full bath and storage space.

Though the 1.50-acre setting feels private and unspoiled, it’s just 1.5 miles away from downtown Greenwich and Greenwich Avenue. The seller attested to being able to access I-95 or the Greenwich train station in Greenwich. It’s just three minutes to Greenwich Hospital.

“The proximity to town is unmatched, while the sense of privacy and serenity truly make it a joy to call home,” Burke concluded.
