Norwalk man accused of trafficking guns, selling drugs

- By Pat Tomlinson

NORWALK — A city man was arrested Wednesday on several arrest warrants for what police detail as a drug and gun selling operation that he operated from his Norwalk home

Tylon “Jacquon” Dubose, 28, was charged with six counts of possession of narcotics, five counts of sale of narcotics, two counts each of illegal sale of a firearm, altering identification marks on a firearm, firearm trafficking and possession of a high-capacity magazine, and a single count each of carrying a pistol without a permit, theft of a firearm and sale of more than a half-ounce of cocaine.

Police wrote in several arrest warrants that they received reports that Dubose was allegedly selling drugs.

However, after performing several controlled purchases of cocaine from Dubose, a convicted felon, over the course of several months, investigators learned that he might also be trafficking in weapons.

Police wrote that during one controlled purchase, Dubose advised the police informant how to purchase a gun illegally — even with a felony conviction — and conceal it.

Investigators later organized the controlled purchase of an illegal 9mm handgun with the serial number filed off from Dubose, who they said allegedly stored the goods in a garage at his home.

During the transaction, police wrote that Dubose, who was wearing gloves, and the informant “discussed multiple firearms” before the purchase was ultimately made.

Police later purchased another gun of Dubose, this time a .45-caliber handgun that was reported stolen out of Bristol in 2022, according to a warrant.

In addition to the drug and gun charges, Dubose also faces a failure to appear charge and several motor vehicle violations.

Dubose was arraigned at the state Superior Court in Stamford on Thursday, where a Superior Court judge upheld his $6.753 million bond. He is next scheduled to appear in court on April 24.
