St. Patrick’s Day is Friday and the town of Greenwich will mark the day with a flag raising outside town hall at 9 a.m.

On March 19, the 47th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will roll down Greenwich Avenue to celebrate Irish culture and the effects Irish residents have had on the town. The parade will be led by Grand Marshal Kevin McFadden and is sponsored by the Greenwich Hibernian Association.

Parts of Dayton Avenue, Field Point Road, West Putnam Avenue, Railroad Avenue, Steamboat Road, Bruce Park Avenue and Greenwich Avenue will be closed or will have detours for cars during Sunday afternoon to accommodate the parade.
