Marie Sulger Roberts August 10, 1931 - January 9, 2024

Marie Sulger Roberts, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2024, at the age of 92, at Wake Robin, in Shelburne, VT. Marie was born on August 10, 1931, in Lake Forest, Illinois, to the late Thomas Armour Connors and Marie Lamarche Connors.

Marie will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her daughters, Jennifer Blanchard and Sarah Anderson, both of Vermont, her sons, Alden H. Sulger III and Thomas C. Sulger, of Chicago and Connecticut respectively, and 14 adoring grandchildren. Marie was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Alden H. Sulger Jr., as well as her late husband, Bruce L. Roberts.

Marie attended The Bell School in Lake Forest, Illinois, The Ethel Walker School in Simsbury, Ct, and Bennet College, in Millbrook, NY. While a diligent student, she thrived most remarkably as a leader with a commitment to service and community spirit. As school president at Ethel Walker’s, she was always proudest of any accolades attesting to her kindness, which she esteemed as the highest virtue.

Marie treasured, above all, her family and many dear friends, for whom she consistently demonstrated her deep affection and fierce loyalty by going above and beyond when needed. A tireless fund-raiser for causes she held dear, formidable party-planner, cheerleader, and champion of any underdog, Marie was happiest when she could brighten spirits. With her heart on her sleeve, she placed her faith in the strength of love.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Michael’s Church, 469 North St., Greenwich Ct. 06830

on Saturday February 3rd at 10:30 am, followed by a reception at The Round Hill Club, Round Hill Club Rd, Greenwich, Ct. from 2:004:00pm.
