Gene “Gigi” Elizabeth Fales sadly passed away on January 12, 2024. She was born in 1943 in Greenwich, Connecticut to Vincent “Gene” and Alyce Cullen.

Gigi’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She cherished every moment and enthusiastically supported their endeavors. Gigi was also a dedicated volunteer, particularly at the St. Louis University Hospital Auxiliary in the ER department. Her commitment to helping others was unparalleled, and she set new Auxiliary records for the hours she contributed. Gigi often expressed that volunteering at the SLU Hospital ER was the most rewarding experience of her life, second only to the joy of raising her four children. Her selflessness and compassion touched the lives of many.

In addition to her family and volunteer work, Gigi had a diverse range of interests and hobbies. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, reading, traveling and bowling. Her vibrant personality and zest for life were evident in all that she pursued.

Gigi graduated from Greenwich High School in 1961. She further pursued her education at Carnegie Medical Technology where she obtained an Associate Degree.

Throughout her life, Gigi had a diverse career. She worked as a dental medical assistant for five years and then joined Tupperware for seven years, reaching “Golden Galaxy” manager status. However, her most cherished role was that of a devoted wife and mother.

Gigi is survived by her husband of 58 years, James M. Fales, and four children: Shannon (Angela Spanakos), James (Keri), Sean (Elizabeth), and Jason (Angie); 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her two brothers, Earle Cullen (Kathy) and Sean Cullen (Angie), her sister Renee Vitti; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Gigi’s final resting place will be Bellerive Garden Cemetery, located in Creve Coeur, Missouri. A memorial bench engraved with the words “LOVE NEVER FALES” will serve as a lasting tribute to Gigi and her marriage.

Gigi’s love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones and community will be deeply missed. Her memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

A funeral mass will be held at Incarnate Word Parish, located at 13416 Olive Blvd., Chesterfield, Missouri 63017, on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 11:00 AM. A visitation time will be at the parish at 10:00 AM prior to the funeral service.
