JCC Schoolboy/Schoolgirl Classic set to see 61st edition
The 61st JCC Schoolboy/ Schoolgirl Classic will be held on Saturday at the Cardinal Shehan Center in Bridgeport.
Two games will be taking place. A Connecticut Boys all-star team will be challenged by an all-star team from New Jersey at 2:30 p.m., followed by a Connecticut all-stars girls game, East vs. West, at 4:30 p.m.
The Connecticut Boys will be coached by Luke Reilly from East CatholicManchester and John Mirabello from Northwest Catholic-West Hartford. The roster includes: Tyler Betsey (St. Thomas More — Cincinnati); Najimi George (Kolbe CathedralBridgeport); Jaylen Brown (Norwalk); Rashawn Tibby (South Kent); Samson Reilly (East Catholic — Quinnipiac); London Jemison (St. Thomas More); Victor Payne (Cromwell); Gianni Mirabello (Northwest Catholic); Riley Fox (Conard — Yale); and Anthony Williams (Windsor).
The coaches for the Connecticut Girls East Team will be Brittany Huggins (Windsor) and Leanne Crockett (Manchester). Team members include: Ayanna Franks (Windsor — Rhode Island); Adeline Standish (Avon — Gettysburg); Tiara Tyson (Manchester); Shaylyn Smith (Middletown — Rhode Island); Maeve Rushin (Northwest Catholic); Ke’iara Odume (Loomis Chaffee — Yale); Jacquelyn Russell (East Hampton — Post); Olivia
Cunningham (Valley Regional — Union); Alana Philpotts (Hamden — College of Charleston); Leah Philpotts (Hamden — Charleston), and Gianna Donnarummo (Hamden — Southern Connecticut State).
The coaches for the Connecticut Girls West Team are Jason Kirck (Sacred Heart AcademyHamden) and Chris Lindwall (St. Joseph-Trumbull). Members of the West Team are: Taylor Brennan (PomperaugSouthbury, Southern New Hampshire); Catherine Sollose (Brookfield); Audrey Tice (St. Paul-Bristol); Casey Mulligan (Woodland-Beacon Falls — Sacred Heart for soccer); Lauren Thompson (Sacred Heart Academy — UMBC), Meghan Kirck (Sacred Heart Academy — Wesleyan), Morgan Miller (Sacred Heart Academy — Mercy), Amaris Timmons (Kolbe Cathedral); Pauline Vlahakis (Stamford — Wesleyan), and Sarah Bertolette (Farmington — Gettysburg).
