more than an art class

Centers for the Arts Bonita Springs helps kids excel

-

These days, the educational focus often rests on the STEM disciplines: science, technology, engineering and math. A deeper understanding of all disciplines, however, can also be learned through the arts.

“At the Centers for the Arts Bonita Springs we enthusiastically promote a ‘Minds On, Hands On’ approach for our Pre-K and K-12 classes, creating curriculum that actively encourages academic growth through the arts,” says Knoël Blake, marketing and print design manager and spokesperson for the facility.

The Centers for the Arts offer a variety of youth classes, all designed to enrich educational experiences, such as the Artful Architect, Cookonomics, Creative Clay Studio, Sew Simple! and Adventures in 3D Printing.

Through stimulating and engaging projects, children learn some of the STEM basics via hands-on learning experiences that increase confidence and lead to academic success.

“While your child is making a pretty decorative cupcake, or a flashy bottle rocket,” says Blake, “they are also learning to measure, calculate, construct and work toward a specific goal by actively engaging both mind and hands.” For more information visit artcenterbonita.org.
