FUN IN THE SUN

-

The Sunshine State knows a thing or two about sunscreen. So, when you need protection from harmful UV rays, reach for Florida Sunscreen, made by the Boca Raton company behind the popular Florida Salt Scrubs line. The broad-spectrum spray sunscreen features coconut oil and a cheeky sense of humor. Its Florida Grown variety offers SPF 15 protection, because, according to the company website, “many locals tend not to burn like a tourist but still maintain a healthy respect for the powerful Florida sun.” Florida Snowbird offers SPF 30, because the state’s winter residents have some experience with the sun here. SPF 50 Florida Cruiser “was crafted with the Florida tourist in mind,” who needs a higher level of protection while vacationing on the beaches here. Once you determine which group you fall into, you can find all three formulations ($16 each) at Suncatchers’ Dream on Sanibel (239-472-7860; suncatchersdream.com).
