Another concern when carrying concealed in a crowd is constantly bumping into other people as you make your way through the event.
If you are carrying concealed but outside the waistband, you run the risk of your firearm making contact with other people. Depending on the venue, this could be unnerving for the other person.
As responsible gun owners, we want to present a positive image to others. When I know I will be in a crowd—and even in most situations—I prefer to carry inside the waistband. It is still easy to get to; there is less “printing” and less chance of an uncomfortable encounter. Holsters such as the new Safariland model 17 and 17T are excellent minimalist concealed-carry choices.
